My name is Melissa Reynolds and I am one of the part-time
elementary counselors here at Nabnasset. I have been working at Nab for the past
14 years. I share my wonderful job with
Beth MacKinnon, who has been a counselor in Westford for 29 years (a huge
accomplishment that I hope I can emulate!).
I enjoy working with our young students and helping them learn
self-regulation skills, problem solving and how to be a better friend.
I have been married to my husband, Steven, since 1995. We have one daughter, Kristina, who is 13
years old and is currently in 7th grade. We live in Chelmsford with our 4 cats:
Katniss, Helen, Katadin and Max. We enjoy hiking, letterboxing, canoeing and having
Family Game/Movie nights.
I graduated from Framingham State College in 1993 with a BA
in Psychology. During those years in
college, I worked as a Resident Assistant for two years and worked on SAFE
(Student Advocates for Education) speaking to my fellow college students on
various issues such as alcohol use and having a healthy relationship, among
others. I attended Rivier College to
attain my M. Ed. in School Counseling in 1997 and graduated in 2001. And the rest,
they say, is history.
